" A Happy Hound Makes A Happy Home"

Our Philosophy

Positive Reinforcement

We believe in using positive reinforcement techniques such as treats, toys, praise ect. to encourage behaviors we desire.  Positive reinforcement is the training method of choice among veterinary behaviorists. The use of positive training methods helps the relationship with you and your pet flourish, gets your pet excited about training, and boosts your pets confidence!

Helping Shelter Pets

Shelter dogs were the inspiration for starting Happy Hounds.  We believe that every dog deserves a loving home where they can be themselves, be loved and be happy!  That being said, we understand that transitioning a new shelter dog into your home can come with challenges for both you and your dog.  We want to be there to help to support you and ensure that your shelter dog has the tools they need to succeed.

Enrichment

Enrichment involves establishing a dogs individual needs and setting up their environment to meet those needs.  A lot of enrichment is established around a dogs natural behaviors and allowing them to express themselves.  Enrichment goes beyond feeder toys and can involve exercise, sniffing, or even listening to music.  We believe that enrichment is the key to making our dogs engaged and happy!
